Prof Vusi Gumede

Vusi Gumede worked in the South African government in various capacities for 12 years, after starting his career as researcher at the erstwhile National Institute of Economic Policy. He has been an academic since 2010. He has published numerous journal articles, book chapters, essays and working papers as well as 16 books and supervised to completion 18 Doctoral students and 9 Masters students. He is presently the Dean for the Faculty of Economics, Development and Business Sciences at the University of Mpumalanga. He holds postgraduate qualifications in economics, public policy and leadership. He has held professorships at the University of Johannesburg, University of South Africa and University of Mpumalanga. He has also lectured at the Wits School of Governance, the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business and the National School of Government. He serves in various editorial committees, councils, boards & associations, and he has held numerous research fellowships.
