Dr Jeannine Bednar-Giyose
Dr. Jeannine Bednar-Giyose is project manager based in Johannesburg with World Data Lab, an organization that develops datasets and tools that track the United Nations Strategic Development Goals in real-time. She is currently involved with World Data Lab’s projects in Africa on employment (especially youth employment), water scarcity, and the environment. Previously, she was a legislative drafter for the National Treasury in South Africa, developing financial sector legislation and as a legal advisor in the Gauteng Provincial Government and at the North West Provincial Legislature. She has a PhD degree in law from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Master of Laws degree from Rhodes University, Bachelor of Laws degrees from UNISA and the University of Calgary, Canada, and Bachelors degrees in Political Science and Microbiology and Zoology from the University of Calgary, Canada. She is an experienced project manager and legal, regulatory and policy advisor and researcher.
