This is a collaboration between the South African Presidency, the European Union-Agence Française de Développement (EU-AFD) Research Facility on Inequalities and the African Centre of Excellence for Inequality Research (ACEIR) that is hosted by the University of Cape Town of behalf of the African Research Universities Alliance.

This will only concern messages relating to the event for which you have registered.

If you have given your consent Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and the Research Facility on Inequalities and the African Centre of Excellence for Inequality Research (ACEIR) will use your details to send you the requested information and to stay in touch via email about inequalities events, products and services. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Contacts will only be kept for one year for the purposes described in the paragraph on GDPR: only for messages relating to the event for which you have registered. If you have given your consent for us to contact you for other events, you may receive invitations to future events. You will be able to opt out from receiving such communication at any time.

We’ll be broadcasting replays of this conference online, so if you’ve asked a question publicly, your name may appear.

Attending in-person

Yes, it will be available once at the venue.

Follow signage to the registration / information desk where you will be given an attendee badge to wear throughout the event. To reduce paper waste we would kindly ask you to wear the same badge on day 1 and day 2.

During the event, free tea, coffee & water and lunch will be provided. An informal reception is planned on 7 November as well as a networking dinner on 8 November 2023. Vegan & Vegetarian options available, if you have any specific dietary requirements, please mention them in the registration form and let the on-site team know.

Attending virtually | accessing the livestream(s)

You can take part by clicking on the buttons to access the livestreams.

No online exchanges with other virtual attendees is foreseen apart from the public, moderated chat at this stage.

You can ask your questions via the chat box which is visible next to the Live broadcast window.

Post event

You can drop your badge off at the collection box next to the registration / information desk or alternatively reception of the Protea Hotel Breakwater.

You will have access to all sessions on-demand / replays 3-4 weeks after the event via the AFD YouTube channel on a playlist dedicated to the conference.
